Introducing
Our beautiful Shire filly,
GYPSY LAKE ICE PRINCESS
Ice Princess is a history-maker.
She was the world's FIRST shire horse born from frozen semen (from a deceased stallion) who was ALSO an embryo transfer! This Frozen AI x ET combo is rare in any horse breed, but before her was unheard of in Shires.
Princess' parents are Gladwin Lucky Grey Lady (shown below) who is a huge grey Shire mare and was a Breyer model in 2003, and their Breyerfest celebration horse and Black Forest Shires' imported champion stallion "Earnshaw Ideal", who is now deceased. These are both multi-show winning English shires, and have made names for themselves in showrings all over.
This filly has the blue-blood to take her far and, as you can see from her pictures, she knows it! She is just stunning to look at and stops traffic wherever she goes. Princess is registered with the SHS (Shire Horse Society) in England, so has "carte-blanche" as far as shire papers go (she is eligible for shire horse registry in ANY shire association in the world with these SHS papers). Princess is one very special filly in so many ways. We are very excited to watch her grow and mature.
Gladwin Lucky Grey Lady, known also as Gracie.
Dam of our Ice Princess.
This aristocratic light grey mare has loads of presence. Gracie is a 1991
Canadian bred, English and American registered Shire mare. She stands 18 honest hands high, 1900+lbs. Gracie is by Grayingham Lucky Lad (who was immortalized a few years ago by being the model for the BreyerŽ Animal's 1993 Breyerfest statue). Her dam is Gentle Giant Snowflower by Ox Kill King. Gracie is broke to ride and drive, and is very good at both. Every time Gracie has been in a Shire show, she has taken 1st place in each of her classes, some of them having substantial competition. One of her first-places was the in first "Shire under saddle" class to be held at the National Shire show in 1997. Gracie and Jeff of Black Forest Shires, competed with 9 other riders, and took home the "Forge Run Farm perpetual trophy".
Champion Earnshaw Ideal, needs no introduction, to the Shire fancy.
His death left a huge void in the breed. We feel incredibly lucky and honored, to have one of his get, here on our farm.
